The Farthest Reaches of the Cosmic Ocean

February 2, 2010

I presented the Digital Universe at the Hayden Planetarium as part of the "Tuesdays in the Dome" series managed by Brian Abbott. Cruise through intergalactic space and explore the immense distances between galaxies. We will learn how the universe has changed with time and how the celerity of light allows us to see the universe as it was billions of years ago. We'll also be talking about the latest findings by the Hubble Space Telescope!

The Grand Tour of the Universe

May 22, 2009

I gave The Grand Tour of the Universe at the Hayden Planetarium as part of the Virtual Universe Tuesdays in the Dome managed by Brian Abbott. The Grand Tour is the classic overview of the Universe from the smallest scales to the largest. Featuring the most current data sets from the largest astronomical surveys, the Virtual Universe is a full 3-D flight through the Cosmos.
